Energy Audit per EPA
The EPA says "energy audits assess how much energy a home consumes. It also evaluates measures to make the home more energy efficient". | Home Performance with ENERGY STAR® (HPwES)
The best way to achieve comfort, efficiency and healthy indoor air quality is to look at each part. | BGE Energy Audit EligibilityDue to the amount of hard work, a comprehensive audit costs $400. For the HPwES program through BGE, eligible customers only pay $100! The $100 BGE energy audit is valid for BGE customers with an active account. The customer must apply through BGE's HPwES Program. The customer must be receiving electric and/or natural gas service from BGE. The offer is not valid for new construction, multi-family dwellings or commercial buildings. | How to Participate
BGE makes this very easy! The first step to get an energy audit is to select a participating contractor of your choice. You can schedule a BGE energy audit with Hometrust here. Once the BGE energy audit is complete the data will get entered into the modeling software. The program calculates eligible rebates. It also calculates how much energy you can save if you get the work done as prescribed. | How Rebates Work
Home "retrofits" are improvements that your auditor discovered during the audit. Retrofits improve comfort, reduce energy usage and create better indoor air quality for your Woodstock home. Maryland provides incentives to off-set retrofit costs. After verifying that the house has achieved the program goal a rebate check is the only item left. Your approved contractor can discuss payment options with you. |
BGE Energy Audit: Two Benefits
A BGE energy audit is a key that can unlock two great things: 1. Secret ways to improve comfort and energy efficiency 2. Incentives through the state of Maryland to offset your costs Considering the fact that the refrigerator repair company will charge you $80 just to walk through your door, this is an investment that is well worth it! What to Expect from a BGE Energy AuditA comprehensive BGE energy audit can guide you to energy savings and comfort. If you are not sure what improvement should be next, a BGE energy audit can set a clear path for you. How Long? On average, a BGE energy audit takes about three hours to complete. You must be home during the audit, however you are not required to follow the technician the entire time. Each auditor has their own style. We like to spend about fifteen minutes in the beginning with you and thirty minutes at the end. We believe that is enough time to thoroughly explain our procedure and our findings. Too many Woodstock home energy audits fall short on customer experience. A BGE energy audit in Woodstock should be interactive and enlightening. It should uncover ways to improve comfort, energy efficiency and indoor air quality. |
