Siding & Exterior Air Barrier Exterior thermal envelope contains a continuous air barrier. Breaks or seams/joints in the air barrier must be sealed. During a home siding remodel an exterior air barrier can be installed to improve the tightness of the home to improve comfort and energy efficiency.
